Package Tour in Siem Reap

Siem Reap is the capital and largest city of Siem Reap Province in northwestern Cambodia, as well as the second-largest city in Cambodia. Museums, Apsara dance performances, a Cambodian cultural village, souvenir and handicraft shops, silk farms, rice paddies in the countryside, fishing villages and a bird sanctuary near Tonlé Sap, and a cosmopolitan drinking and dining scene can all be found in the city.

Angkor Wat

Angkor Wat is a temple complex in Cambodia that spans 162.6 hectares (1,626,000 m2; 402 acres). According to Guinness World Records, it is the world’s largest religious structure. Originally built by King Suryavarman II for the Khmer Empire as a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu in the 12th century, it was gradually transformed into a Buddhist temple towards the end of the century.

Bayon

The Bayon is a richly decorated Buddhist temple at Angkor in Cambodia. The Bayon was built in the late 12th or early 13th century as the state temple of King Jayavarman VII and stands in the heart of Jayavarman’s capital, Angkor Thom.

Bakheng Moutain
Phnom Bakheng is a Hindu and Buddhist temple in Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, in the shape of a temple mountain. It was dedicated to Shiva and constructed at the end of the 9th century during the reign of King Yasovarman (889-910). It is now a popular tourist destination for sunset views of the much larger temple Angkor Wat, which lies amid the jungle about 1.5 kilometers to the southeast.

Koh Ke and Beong Mealea

1. Beng Mealea was designed as a Hindu temple, but some of the carvings depict Buddhist themes. Its primary material is sandstone, and it is largely undamaged, with trees and thick brush flourishing among its towers and courtyards and many of its stones lying in large heaps. For many years, it was difficult to reach, but a road recently built to the temple complex of Koh Ker passes through Beng Mealea, and more visitors are flocking to the site, which is 77 kilometers by road from Siem Reap.

2. Koh Ker is a remote archaeological site in northern Cambodia about 120 kilometers (75 miles) from Siem Reap and the ancient Angkor site. It is a jungle-filled, sparsely populated region. More than 180 sanctuaries were discovered in an 81-square-kilometer protected area (31 sq mi). Tourists can only visit about a dozen monuments because the majority of the sanctuaries are hidden in the forest and the entire area is not fully demined.

Kulen Mountain
Phnom Kulen National Park, which straddles the districts of Svay Leu and Va Rin, is a sanctuary in the area. Its goal is both recreational and scientific, with the goal of preserving the natural scenic features of Phnom Kulen Mountain, such as some famous waterfalls.
The park is about 48 kilometers (30 miles) north of the provincial capital of Siem Reap.

Phnom Krom

Phnom Krom is located approximately 12 kilometers southwest of Siem Reap.

The rocks on Phnom Krom hill were exposed by the monkey general Hanuman during a search for medicine in the Ramayana epic, according to local legend. Views of Tonle Sap Lake can be had beyond the temple’s west gate.

Banteay Srey

Banteay Srei, also spelled Banteay Srey, is a Hindu temple in Cambodia dating from the 10th century. It is located in the Angkor area, near the Phnom Dei hill, 25 kilometers north-east of the main group of temples that once belonged to the medieval capitals of Yasodharapura and Angkor Thom.

Just over a month into my trip and I wonder how I’ve changed, if at all. Certainly the experiences I’ve had and things I’ve seen have shaped me in someway.
